My Niche
I am an engineer that does programming, with lots of experience in a variety of industrial, manufacturing and business situations. This means having familiarity and reasoning skills that are different from a computer science programmer. Many projects are intuitive. Some general areas:
- make complex calculations or processes automatic
- create tools and calculators for use by non-engineering users
- analyze and streamline tedious tasks, especially copy-pasting data
- add functionality to programs where the original programmer is no longer available
- interface with data acquisition systems to populate databases or Excel files
- make info from AS400, SQL server, etc. more user-friendly and useful
